We recently got a Howdens account and get 50% off kitchens and 30% off worktops. I think that the more you use the account the greater your discount so he is probably getting nearer to 75% off so I think he is probably taking you for a bit of a ride!

I concur with previous posts, we got a kitchen six months ago and the discounts on the units were between 65-75%.

Appliances were less but still discounted. Only a small kitchen but including an integrated dishwasher £1770.

Somebody either hasnt got a very good trade discount or is taking you for a ride.

I have just had a quote for a Howdens kitchen using a friends seldom used trading account. He is a roofer and his account is a cash only account. His wife opened it with a letter head so she could buy a kitchen. She said there were no questions asked. The discount was 65%.

Thanks all, I appreciate what you are saying Sloughflint, but my husband is a plumber and has got a bathroom on his account at PTS for this joiner and has charged him cost price exactly. The joiner knows this.

Take some invoices from P T S and go into Howdens, and tell them your branching out, and are now fitting kitchens, and you want to open an account ! Howdens are struggling to meet targets, they need new accounts . M F I and Howdens are now separate companies , M F I was sold off a few months ago. At times M F I can be cheaper than Howdens, ( same products only difference is M F I is flat pack , and their fine ) open the account tell the cad/ cam man ( kitchen designer ) you have 6 kitchen enquires to quote for, yours will be the first ! to get the best discount. Howdens quote different discounts to different people, all that !!!!!! about 60% - 70% is a joke ! I know this for a fact, I know a man who works there, that man is married to my DAUGHTER.

We have a large howdens kitchen, cost £4k with dishwasher, built in oven and a 5 burner hob.

£6.5k is a very very big kitchen with no appliances.

    This is mine:
