Really surprised at all the negative here. I have banked with Cahoot for a couple of years and use them for my current & savings account. I find them very competitive, reliable and any questions I have had have always been promptly answered/resolve via email or telephoned.

Yes, I said I've been very satisfied with them.

..... and no one ever sends me a 'large cheque'!

Ssssh - I used a post office to pay in an interest free credit card cheque for full stooze!!

I'm still waiting to see how Ernie or Lotto will pay me when the time comes - though in the latter case, it would probably help if I bought a ticket!

Cahoot also provide a "webcard" service which allows you to generate a debit/credit card number for online transactions which you can limit to the amount you are spending. The funds are deducted from your normal account but the details you provide can only be used once for the amount you have authorised.

Is this Webcard good to use, i mean does alot of place's except this unlike the Visa electron's?

If you have a 'normal' cahoot credit card, you can ask for the webcard. You would can only use it for online transactions. I don't often use it, but have not yet had a problem with acceptance except when the software on the card at cahoot's end went down, so hardly the fault of the vendor for thinking I was a weirdo. That episode did put me off the webcard, but I tentatively used it recently and all seems to be well now.

It's main advantage is security - ie it generates a 16 digit 'credit card' number and verification number which you can copy and paste straight into an online order form, but if vendor tries to use it again or for more than you have specified for the transaction, they will be stuffed.

The transaction is then charged by cahoot to your normal visa.

    Hope that helps

It works like a normal VISA card. Major advantage is being able to specify a credit limit for each number so if you visit dubious websites which request a credit card as proof of age then you can be sure they can't rip you off ;)
