I am trying to understand how planet-talk saver option 2 actually works.

1.If I use this service for off-peak calls to uk land lines only, then calls are free.
Is there a connection charge?
2.Peak calls are charged at 2p/min. Again is there a connection charge?
3.Can I use another provider like 18866 for my daytime calls?
4. If I only use the planet-talk service for the off-peak free calls, how do they make any money out of me?
5. If they do not charge me for anything, how long will they maintain my connection?

Answering my own questions here, but confirmation would be appreciated.
They seem to charge a 1p connection fee for the free calls. (90 mins)
They have a minimum charge of 4p for any non-inclusive calls.
What is a non-inclusive call?
Has anybody used them for the free calls only?0 -
Since when did they start charging a 1p connection fee
Non inclusive calls are eg 0845, 0870, mobiles
I've used then for free calls only for ages, but I did recently have a DD for 17p but I didn't bother to look to see what it was for0 -
You did, indeed, answer you own questions. But there's no charge for free calls - they're free AFAIAA.
However, if you click the 'HERE' link in my signature below, you'll see how you can just use them for the free calls - and send everything else by other routes.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
