Advice re request to to pull house from market

  • I think you are making a mountain out of a molehill. Yes, buying and selling houses is stressful but I don't think the EA has done anything wrong. It is normal practice until the survey has been done. If you do want to write a note to the vendors maybe just say you meant to give your contact details when you viewed but forgot so here they are if you have any queries. That would leave it up to the vendor to contact you if she feels she needs or wants to. Good luck with it anyway, I hope it all goes smoothly for you (or as smoothly as these things can!)

Thanks. They have agreed to remove it from the market now and without going into too much detail I probably didn't fully explain why we are so untrusting of this particular EA, but lets just say there are a few things a financial ombudsman would have a field day with if we were to present our experience.

anyway, result is that they have marked the property as sstc even though we know a lot of things can go wrong between now and completion. it is one less worry in a way and we feel can progress where there is a certain level of commitment from both sides. happy days.
  • I'm glad it's ok and hope it goes ahead without too many hiccups for you. Good luck.
