What are the cheap airlines running from LHR?

Hi

I'm looking for a cheap European break in June, flying from Heathrow as my friend lives nearby. I don't know what the budget airlines fly from there, can anyone give me further info please?

Thanks!

NO budget airline flies from Heathrow - however "normal" airlines like BMI, BA & Aer Lingus have some very good prices on European routes if you book well in advance.

There seem to be some reasonable prices on it

Add Lufthansa to that list. They also have quite reasonable one-way and return fares to Europe.

Swiss can be surprisingly cheap as well if you can book well in advance.

The advantage that the "normal" airlines have over the no-frills ones is that with most of them you can book up to eleven months in advance at all times. In contrast, the no-frills ones release their flights in six month blocks. This means there could be a mad scramble for cheap seats if you want to fly on a day just after the start of this release date.
