Hi all, again,

I had a virus attacka few weeks back and before and after my PC didn't seem right. Intermittent slowdowns Hangs when closing progs Etc.

Before cleaning with assistance from here, i went thru the first stages as mentioned at the front of this thread and went thru the same procedure AGAIN three days ago as I was still sending out junk mail.

This morning I learn that I sent out more spam last night.

Can someone assist me here once again, please.

Thanks

Have you changed your passwords? Use a known clean computer if you think yours may still be infected.

looking back over your other topic your problems seemed resolved.

As you cleaned the pc to some extent before you posted for help, we don't know what you were initially infected with - It's possible that whatever infection you had harvested your passwords and they are now being used to access your email account to send spam.

    No problem.

Do you remember what you were infected with - a mbam log or anything that shows the detections? If you do, post it here.

See if there's any change after changing the passwords.

I've changed the passwords and I also ran Superantispyware then rebooted before restarting IE.

Will be back if I have more probs with sending out spam.

    Thanks for the advice.

How do you know that you are sending out spam? Is there any trace of it in your email client? Is it going to addresses from your address book? Or is it just that you are getting spam emails bounced back to your address? I had a lot of trouble a while back because spam emails were being sent out with my email address faked on them, and they were being sent to me as returned email. In the end I had to upgrade the spam filter on my email account to filter out all the fake returned spam.

An old trick I figured out years ago.

I have, in my address book a fake email address which Mailer Daemon returns to me whenever an email is sent out to that address.

That will only happen when my PC sends out spam.

I don't think I quite understand that question.

Is that where these bugs get your passwords and if so what can be done to prevent that without making normal use of my PC a chore.

To clear up what I meant , is your address book(contacts) stored in a webmail system e.g. Hotmail,YahooMail, Gmail orany other mail system online. Or do you use a mail client on your PC . If it is on web based systems, then it is likely that someone has farmed it and hence your "fake" address is receiving stuff.
