Hi
Just wondering about using my Nokia maps when abroad - I believe there is different types of GPS
- built into the phone
- assisted gps which uses the phone towers to help locate you
- internet gps which uses internet to help locate you
Does anyone know about the costs of these both in the UK and abroad (going to portugal)?
When abroad I thinking that if I trun all the other GPS off except the built in GPS, then there should be no cost? But I rang T-mobile and they said all GPS uses the internet?

its probably a case of the GPS working ok for positioning, but then you need to download the actual maps themselves as you go along, and it will use a data connection to do this, its this data download which could prove costly!0

Yeah GPS is free, it is the maps, traffic information, terrain & sat maps, searching for address, real time traffic, weather forecast.
Depending on how long you are there for and how often you think you will use the GPS, may be worthwhile looking to see how much a sim card is for that country.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0
