Running Excel 2007 and 2000

I have recently installed Excel 2007 alongside Excel 2000, as part of the Office Suite. Excel 2000 is fine for most of the work I do but I need 2007 on the odd occasion as it can handle more rows (up to 1 million!). I prefer the look of 2000 though as 2007 is so radically different, but can not find an option to make 2000 the default version.

I have tried the Open With/Choose Program routine but Excel 2000 does not appear on the list.

Any ideas please?

Click Browse... and browse to Microsoft Office\Office9 (I think that's the folder for Office 2000) and select Excel.exe

Remember to tick 'Always use this program'

Thanks for your reply Chippy, I think you're basically right in what you were saying but I did not have an Office9 folder on my PC. But I have managed to solve the problem by searching the Microsoft support website.

What I did was to run the repair Office routine using the original Office 2000 installation CD and that did the trick.
