PDA Wireless Help

I have a Navman PiN 570 PDA. As well as the Sat Nav Function I also want to use it to get online when out and about, as well as when at home.
I have bought a Safecom Wireless LAN Card (SDIO 802.11b) and installed the software on the PDA via Smart ST.
I can get the Wireless LAN up on the PDA and I can see wireless networks that are avaialble. But, I cannot connect. I never seem to find anywhere to be able to log on with my username, password, etc. I've been through all the menus, help functions and the like and looked at advice on making a new connection but all it seems to suggest is putting in aphone number for dial up!!
Help, what am I doing wrong? What should I be doing/looking for to get connected? How do I get on line?
Thanks

I've got a similar setup with my mitac mio and it does work, but I can never be sure how!
I think the first time you use it you need to go to Settings\Network Cards, which brings up "configure wireles networks", then touch the screen on the line where it shows your available network, and hold down to bring up the context menu, which has a "connect" option for you to choose, then click OK0
