Birmingham City Council

We used to have a recycling collection once a fortnight. We had a collection just after Christmas which took place a few days after the normal Friday collection. I assumed this was down to the mass of paper and plastics involved in opening gifts over the Christmas period and shrugged it off.

The next collection took place 3 weeks ago, but only after I emailed a complaint to Service Birmingham, the service providers of Birmingham City Council. Since then there has been nothing and recycling is now piling back up to the point that we are seeing rats. Just last week we found a bunch of local kids poking a stick at a rat that had been pulped by a car outside our house.

What really takes the %$&& is it only seems to be this end of the road that isn't being collected. The other end of the road has still been getting collected as usual. I know this because I saw them collecting while I was walking to the shop and imagined they would continue the full length of the street except on the way back from the shop the lorry had gone and the recycling was still there.

Not that I'm at all surprised by any of this, every dealing I have with Birmingham City Council lately seems to be one line of incompetence after another.
