Transfering balance but credit only fair

Hi
I have had a BarclayCard for years and the balance has mounted to over £4000. I have a decent job and can pay all my debts. Due to a past relationship my name is on a loan with an ex partner for £22,000. With this, my maxed out credit card and my overdraft (£1950) my credit is fair only, Experian say its due to the large ammount of debt and it not noticebly reducing over the years.
I want to transfer my credit card balance so instead of paying mainly interest on the Barclaycard i am actually paying off the balance.
So what should i do? Phone Barclaycard and advice them i am thinking of moving and see if they can offer me a better interest rate, or apply for a balance transfer card but with the chance it could be refused. Getting annoyed that i have the money to pay these off but to help pay them quicker i need a friendly credit card company to actually trust me.

Get a soft search done, ask Barclays and see what they will offer. However try doing a soft search on one of the comparison sites to see what you can get.0

Creation are supposedly one of the easier 0% cards to get. You could possibly consider trying them.
Have you actually tried applying anywhere so far and been declined?
Obviously the high amount of debt you have could cause problems, plus presumably you don't know what your ex's file/credit history is like?
If he has problems on his file this will affect you when you apply for credit, but without you knowing if there are problems (as it does not affect your experian score/rating and of course you cannot see his file, also of course experian's rating does not compare how much you owe to how much you earn, which potential lenders will be abel to).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
