Requesting A lowering of Interest/Increase of Credit

in Credit cards
Edit:
Turns out it does but you can ask them to just have a look at your current "card score". Well atleast thats what I did at Halifax and they said at the minute my score isn't high enough for an increase but if I pay more each month for about 2 months then it should bring that score up. It's good this way because at Halifax they can tell you if your score is enough for an increase without it going onto your credit score. Atleast thats what she told me, I am going to get my credit report again just to make sure it didn't go down though lol.
regards,
Dan

Make sure your not checking your report and score too often, as this can also be a bad thing0

Checking your report has no effect on your credit file as the searches are unrecorded, meaning lenders do not see them.0
-
But if you request your score, that counts as a search on your file?0

Equifax use their own scoring system with information that is provided to them on a monthly basis. They do not do a search in the same way your bank would if you applied to a loan/credit card etc.0

i think they are referring to their own internal scoring system. with ours it changes every month depending on how well your account is run so for example someone who pays in full, doesn't withdraw cash, pays on time etc will have a good score. its used internally to decide on things like increase of limit and other stuff which i won't go into, i assumed it was supposed to be secret though.0
