Java Script - where is it?

I have been having problems with my laptop. Tonight on AOL my messages would not open and I then found a notice to say it needs Java Script to open them so I now think the other problems are caused by the same reason. I have got Java script but suspect it has not been updated (they send me reminders). Where will it be or have I got to reinstall it?

No - that's a download for the Java Runtime Environment = JRE.
Javascript is an entirely different animal, built in to all browsers. It can be turned off, but not knowing what browser you're using, I can't specify how to turn it on again. (You can also use the NoScript extension in Firefox to prevent Javascript code running...)0 -

ESPRESSO, Thank you, I did know about blue text and the Java program is sorted now but I still can't find my emails, or find a straightforward letter writing programme (I did not mention this). I have downloaded Libre docs and tomorrow I will have a look at Google documents.0
