Hard to categorise but maybe bizarre family life? How Garp was conceived will either make you heave with laughter or cringe with embarrassment, for instance! Loads of his novels have been made into films - Garp (great cast including John Lythgoe, Robin Williams and Glen Close!), Cider House Rules (Michael Caine won an Oscar for his fantastic portrayal of Wilber Larch). Have a look at his wiki page:

Yes I do remember them now. Are the films similar to the novels or were the changed.

Oh wow, this thread has turned into a book club.

One of the first books I read was Jules Verne - A journey to the centre of the earth. I loved it.

I don't tend to read too much nowadays. I work from home and so always seem to be either working, playing golf, being attacked by the cat or reading this thread.

    In that particular order? :D
    Call me Carmine....

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??

Join the club. Isn't it nice to have a pleasant conversation - even if it is about books.

Another working from home - what do you do?
  • In that particular order? :D

Strangely enough yes it is in that order.

I guess I should add 'spending time with the wife' , although as you may have guessed, that should be tacked onto the end of the list. :D
