Most effective way to learn Dreamweaver

I have a home study course through my local college, but it needs to be used with tutor examples and the support of a tutor, and the tutor I was allocated is on long-term sick leave, and they're not offering any support.

I need to learn how to use the package for work as part of my job, and I'm wondering if anyone could make any suggestions regarding books, or tutorials that might help me grasp it. I don't know a lot of HTML, but have used frontpage in the past, and have made a website using the samples on Dreamweaver, it's just that the company wants something a bit more dynamic now and has decided to add it to my brief!

In the Macromedia days there were some great tutorials for all skill ranges on their site. I'm not sure if Adobe do the same but it's worth checking out.

If you can get your company to splash out a bit for some resources then take a look over at the lynda.com website. When I worked in the education sector, teaching web design/internet technologies, many of my fellow tutors swore by the material there to keep a step ahead of the classes they were teaching.

Lastly, please don't take anything you've learnt from Frontpage as good practice. Amongst the various tools I had to get my students using (curriculum thing) Frontpage was the package I used to show my students as an example of what not to do. Getting to know the basics of HTML/PHP etc in a text editor is always a good move to. That way when your WYSIWYG editor starts throwing funnies you will have the skills to fix it properly from the code side.
