BG stupid or harrassing?

Just got in the house with heavy shopping when phone rings and it is british gas wanting to speak to husband. A little surprised as I thought this was the 21st century not the 19th and chauvanistic attitudes like this had disappeared.
Decided to be reasonable as we have been customers for over 20 years and possibly DH had contacted them. Had to shout for him to come in from the garden and stop what he was doing - turns out it was a sales call and they did not know we were customers:mad:
When I suggested to DH that if they were so incompetent that after several unwanted phone calls from them over the last few months trying to sell us their services - and being informed every time we were customers of over 20 years and already signed up to homecare etc. etc. - they still pestered us - should we perhaps cancel everything with them right now. They hung up!
No apology - no sorry to have bothered you - no promise to remove us from the stupid selling calls!!!
DH says he will "write them a letter" .
I will not be holding my breath for and end to their pestering
but feel more confident in DH finally getting round to getting shut of them for good.
Feel better for the rant but still fed up.
(I do know if that is all I am worried about then I am lucky
but the shopping was heavy, it was a really warm day and my feet hurt).;)
