Student grants and savings advice

I was wondering if anyone could help me solve a query about student grants. I am applying for university this September and was wondering if I would qualify for a grant. I come from a low income family (under the income stated for a full grant) but I was in an accident and so have a good bit of savings from the compensation. So would I still qualify and are there any other elements to consider which may restrict grants?
Thanks J

I have not heard of any student grant or loan that is dependent on capital.
As far as I am aware, student support is universally dependent on assessed household income.

So you could have £1m in the bank, and as long as it's not generating any interest, you would be eligible for full SLC loan and grant as an undergraduate studying for their first degree.
Said Aristippus, “If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.”
Said Diogenes, “Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.”
• So long as the money isn't generating income over a certain level it should be fine to declare. Just ask what the levels.
• thanks for the help everyone, hopefully it won't effect it :)
