Hello all
Has anyone used underlay under a vinyl floor in the kitchen?
Our kitchen floor has been newly laid with WBP Ply with vinyl to go on top.
We have bought a 'cushioned vinyl' from B&Q but our guy has recommended underlay with this for a better feel.
Any advice?
Thanks

It doesn't make sense to me. Making the underlay soft would mean that anyone wearing heels would go straight through it!
I've always used paper underlay, or newspaper was what people used to use.The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

I think he means "felt paper" but it has no felt in it these days, a full roll is £29 50mx2 and NO is the answer, the Plywood should be feather edged to remove any nail holes once secured at 5inch centres and then the vinyl laid straight on top once dry.
But the carpet shop wont have the skill level to feather edge the ply so are most likely trying to fob you off with the magic paper felt.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
