home move furniture

Hi all,
I am moving my flat and have a sofa in a friend house which is in liverpool. i want to avoid getting a van and going down there to get it into London.

this will cost me around 80+ fuel which maybe around 100 to go and get the sofa.
does any one know a better was of doing this such as a delivary company or something

    There are loads of "Man with Van" ads on Gumtree. Perhaps search for one in Liverpool who is willing to take a trip into London?

    Try Shiply.com - lots of Ebayers use them and they are competitive as the people who quote are usually making the journey anyway so any extra money they get is a bonus.

    Try and find haulage companies that do 'part loads'. Then your sofa gets loaded with other goods and you are all sharing the costs.
    Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.

    i tried Shiply.com and so far had three bids of around 60 which is reasonable

    i will have a further look into how Shiply.com works and .. does anyone recommend them ?
