Cleaning a brush with nail varnish remover

Can I clean a small brush I have been using to paint hammerite with nail varnish remover.
The reasons being I have it and will never use it, and I don't have any brush cleaner.

Nail varnish remover is acetone - not sure if that will work with hammerite paint. Exactly how much mail varnish remover do you have? I tend to have no need for it myself, but I thoughi it only came in very small glass containers?

Thanks for ypour reply, its a 250ml bottle, so plenty to clean a small brush, I'll probably just go out and buy some brush cleaner when I've finished and put the nail polish remover back in the cupboard.

You will be amazed at the price of Hammerite cleaner. Usually cheaper to throw the brush away!

I always use petrol to clean hammerited brushes...ordinary brush cleaner seems to have no effect.
Take care as petrol is highly inflammable.

thanks Roger, I have already gone for option B, throw it away, although I did put it in nail polish remover first just to see what happened, nothing of course.

Hammerite will come off now if you use white spirit as they changed the formula

Thank you, I'll know for next time, I've also learnt how to multi quote.
