Floors2go question

Hello,
I have recently had a solid oak flooring purchased from floors2go and fitted by their recommended fitter, a month after it was put it I noticed three planks with splits on the surface of the wood. The fitter came round and submitted a report to floors2go and said that it was an environmental issue. I do not believe this to be the case, this is in the least used room with heating on low. I believe it is a fault with the wood. Floors2go want me to now pay £75 on top of the 2k i've paid for the flooring for an independent assessor to look at it. I cannot afford to pay this and wonder if anyone can give me advice on this. I don't expect faults after a month of fitting.
