Sent a letter to Capital One requesting details under section 78 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and today received a reply saying that because I had requested a balance which I paid and closed the account that they has no obligation to provide me with a copy of the documents I requested. I know that I had PPI on this credit card because I have a letter from them (in May 2007) which confirms that they had cancelled the PPI premium. The credit card was taken out several years before 2007. What can I do now - Help!!!!!!:(

If you know the account number (it'll be on the 2007 letter) and you have legitimate reasons you can complain. Go here:I know that I had PPI on this credit card because I have a letter from them (in May 2007) which confirms that they had cancelled the PPI premium. The CCA request only applies to debts outstanding. Not those repaid. Its a common error we see on this board and not helped by this website not giving the correct information.
