  • Just wanted to say hope your dog is ok, when my darling Maggie was alive (our westie) she was attacked by a greyhound, my nan has kept them for years and I always believed them to be good natured dogs, it tore the back of her neck open and it was touch and go that she would be ok but she pulled through, I know how upsetting it can be.

God I feel quite sick reading all these post ,I actually heard my dogs jaw being crushed, can still hear it now.
This is why OP it's really important for you and little mutt to get to a good place with this ASAP,and to be honest my dog ended up being a ***** to humans too at times, again coz I was stupid enough not to see what was happening,he became way too protective of me coz of my fear.
As 4 the owner of other dog, seems a bit of an *** ,any respectable owner would have been sorry, paid bill, and fixed fence.
Hope u feel better soon about it.
Just so I don't look like really odd, I wrk nights so am always awake at random and odd times.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

I am sorry and hope your JRT gets better soon.

I would go back to police with a formal complaint. They should take an unprovoked attack seriously and you need a crime number to go in your small claims court claim. Your dog insurance may cover your costs of getting repaid.

I was reluctant to do go to the police when one of my terriers was hunted by a greyhound and shaken unsconsious - thankfully not killed. I was glad I did so as it transpired the dog had attacked before. The police were great and warned the elderly owner. She paid the vet bills and my costs of antibiotics as I was bitten when extracting my dog. The greyhound didn't intentionally bite me - but I am sure it was an ex hare courser as it deliberately hunted my terrier. She said it had got a muzzle off. The owner had a final warning. I think it must have attacked again as she got rid of it a few months later.

I also endorse the recommendation that you get your dog happy again with other dogs and rotties in particular. An animal behaviourist and a nice local rottie owner can help you. Claim for this too - as terriers never forget!

    Good luck
