You will see that I have written parts of it in italics, which has nothing to do with you personally, but a tongue in cheek comment about how SOME claimants forget that they are being observed as soon as they are within camera range which could well be on a public footpath 1/4 mile away!!

I agree with you entirely.
Support Group, it is for people who don't have a great prospect of getting or returning to work in the longer term
It would be nice to know that that is the case, but I too can't find that descriptor anywhere in the conditions attached to the Support Group.
Personally from what the poster has said, there is nothing there that leads me to think that the Support Group is in any way relevant.
As regards appealing on the grounds that the hip's weren't tested is probably a non starter. The assessor would not only have the CCTV footage to watch, but also would have seen at first hand how the poster walked into the assessment room.
Ok, if I have taken the post out of context then I apologise for having a go at you - as I say it's very easy to misunderstand on a forum. The hip thing is only a minor point - but never the less one that I wanted clarifying as to how they would have tested them - there are other/greater mistakes/omissions on the report than that.
The doctor stated that I should be fit for work within 12 months which in the state I am now (at the moment I am getting worse) I know I couldn't do and at the moment the only hope I have of any improvement is through a pain management course I am hoping to do.As to whether I actually qualify for support group I still remain unsure - the fact that I can walk - albeit it is in pain and very slowly probably means that I don't qualify.Freudian slip?
I hope so!

I don't trust anyone when going for a medical even down to the taxi driver that ATOS arranged. I have osteoarthritis in my left hip so servere I'm on a waiting list for a replacement. After I managed to walk from the taxi to waiting room then to assessment room I refused to let the assessor touch my left leg in any way, there was no way they were going to cause me any more pain! I have been put in the support group now.0

A very sensible attitude!
There is a saying when dealing with any government department, trust no one, believe no one and sign nothing without carefully considering the implications!!
The DWP especially, work to a set of rules that are as rigid as a block of wood.
They expect you to follow those rules - they can only work with those that do.
Play around with them, treat everything and anybody with suspicion, throws them into a quandry.
If you cover all bases then there is little that they can do to use against you.
You were right to refuse to allow them to touch your leg. They can't prove one way or the other then. They have to have solid grounds to believe that it may not be as bad as you make out. Without testing it, they won't have and have to give way to you in granting the award.0
