i currently have an item listed on ebay here:
(removed)
someone has emailed asking this:
Could you please make your items available for bidders, outside UK? I am a prospective bidder in Seoul, South Korea.
Kind regards,
- lovelybang
i only ever sell to the uk as i havent got a clue how to sort out postage to overseas and i always worry about posting things abroard anyway, but more so with this item as its very valuable.
just wondered what your opinions are to this? thanks

Hi
Please remove the link to the item you are selling, it not a good idea.
I would not send that item outside the UK as tracking would not be guaranteed and are more than likely to loose your money. I would only sell it within the UK and please send it special delivery with additional insurance.
I personally would try and sell the item to a shop or even an aution house or similar as these type of items are a target for scammers and if you did send the item the buyer could easily say that it was not in the package and paypal/ ebay would refund the buyer their money. Or the buyer could open a dispute and send you back something else again ebay/ paypal tend to side with the buyer and not the seller.0 -
Personally, I wouldn't consider sending anything of that value outside of the EU, and there are also a couple of EU countries that I wouldn't send to.
In all honesty, I wouldn't even sell it on ebay, and I would see what I could get from a local jeweller.
This may well be less than an ebay sale, but it would be "cash in hand", and you wouldn't have any worries about chargebacks or scammers targeting your listing.0 -
Yeah I would second that, I never send abroad as I know nothing about customs and postage anywhere else, it's just not worth the hassle.0

Personally I wouldn't send that item aboard and would just tell the buyer unfortunately you can't due to it's value.
If you are keen for bidders you might find a courier offering an insured, tracked service but again too much risk for my liking. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
Firstly, you really need to remove the link to your auction.
I wouldn't consider posting anything of that value overseas, so politely tell them that it is UK only.
Do make sure that you keep the receipt for the postage for months in case of chargeback.
I'd keep a copy of the valuation certificate.0 -

What sort of jewellers have you tried? Chain stores or independent shops? I find little boutiques offer a lot more.0

Have you tried a B&M auction house? They'll generally give a free valuation, so it may be worth a try.
Less risk for you.0 -
