Microsoft Money 2005 UK no longer works

I have been using Microsoft Money 2005 UK edition for many years now and have a Money file which has all my historic financial data that I use regularly. Unfortunately, my hard drive failed recently which required a complete re-install. Luckily, all my data is stored on a NAS which is backed up so I didn't lose any data. I then went about installing all my software.
Normally after installing Money, it would inform me of an available update that needed to be installed. I was using Money+Update with my previous data file and need to install the update in order to read the Money file.
However, I couldn't get the usual update prompt to come up. I did a bit of google searching and found this web page: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/is/money/thread/dfa5b7bd-b200-4cd5-9e39-199dbadff09d
The version installed from my CD is 14.0.120.730. The update version I need is 14.0.120.1105. However, it seems Microsoft have decommissioned the update server so there doesn't appear to be a way I can update the software.
The thread mentions that if a backup of the MNYCoreFiles folder from the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money 2005" is done then you can copy this over after a fresh install and all will work fine.
I didn't know the update server was decommissioned so I didn't backup this data. From what I can gather, there is nothing unique about the MNYCoreFiles.
I can understand why Microsoft decommissioned the update server but I really don't know why they didn't provide a standalone update file that could be downloaded in it's place.
Is there anyone using Microsoft Money 2005 UK who could help me out?

This worked a treat, no idea why my Google searching didn't reveal this. Anyway, thanks for the link. I've now got a local copy of the update so I should be ok going forward.Just install the free Microsoft Money from Microsoft website, it's not the UK version and but it worked for me.
Are you referring to the Microsoft Money Plus Sunset product? I vaguely heard about this and was tempted but I don't think it would have given me anything above what my Money 2005 UK software already did for me. Even though it's not supported, it still does the job and works with pretty much all the main bank/credit card company download transaction file formats so it does the job.0 -

I still use the MS Money 2005 and its fine. The sunset edition wasnt possible for me as it wouldnt read the UK version data file. So, you would have to start from scratch on it. Something I dont really desire.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
