I have this optional update for windows updates,do i need it as i don't know if it is for my laptop touchpad or something to do with PS2.

    yes you can use it, it's a driver update for the touchpad (mousepad) built in to your lappy.

    I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

    yes, on all my machines :) you won't really notice any difference as a user.
