Work paid breaks in 6 hours.

My friend is to sign a new contract 2 days at 9am to 3.30 6.5 hours 2 days at 9am to 3.00 6 hours. Am I righ in thinking that she is entitled to a 20 minute paid break within these hours and not at the beginning or the end. Many thanks.

Whilst that is the legal stance not all companies do the bare minimum so she really needs to both read her contract and/ or ask the company/ colleagues to find out.

Back in my call centre days even if you didnt work over 6 hours many would allow you a break as long as you worked it back, particularly if your team leader was a smoker and so wanted a break themselves
