Which is the best website for finding out local crime rates, incidents etc on a street-by-street basis?

    Start with your local Council website. Ours has interactive maps that show all sorts of things. Usually you put your postcode in and a page comes up that gives you eveyrthing from dates of rubbsh collections to who your councillors are . From this you can access the Police database and see all sorts of data, on crime they even pin point events on the map and catagerise the nature of the felony and the date and time.

    You need to be careful what you do with this info. The crime and ASB rate for NW3 is 740. This postcode includes Hampstead (one of the most sought-after areas in London). The rate for Liverpool L8 (which includes Toxteth) is only 550.
