moving money

I have recieved a large cheque and plan to pay it into Natwest. I then need to move some into Nationwide. I have current accounts with both of these, so to start with will go to the current accounts. I don't have online banking or telephone banking for either so will be inbranch.
Is there an easy and quick way to move the amount over? And how?

  • Just go into the branch for the bank you are moving the money from, with the details of the receiving bank account, and ask them to transfer it for you by BACS or faster payment (FP may or may not be available).

If the amount is large they may try to get you to use CHAPS, but this is a chargeable service, and is not necessary unless you need the money in the other account the same day.
