Barclays PPI Complaint

Hi,

Im new to the forum and im just after a little bit of advice. Ive just helped my mother with a ppi claim with barclays bank. When i helped her make the complaint i filled in the standard FOS questionaire, in that questionaire i specified 3 different accounts with 3 diferent ppi policies that my mother wished to make a complaint about:
1. PPi on a current account overdraft
2. PPi on a BarclayCard
3.PPi on a BarclayLoan

I sent the questionaire off about 6 weeks ago, my mother had a reply on saturday (24/03/2012). In the letter Barclays upheld the complaint on the barclay loan and offered here a full ppi refund, but there is no mentioned, no acknowledgement of the other 2 accounts that we clearly stated she wished to complain about. Is she likley to recieve seprate correspondence for the other accounts? I had dealing with ppi complaints before, but with hsbc and they itemised everything in 1 letter.

You should have completed a different FOS questionnaire for each complaint.
The hope is that your further complaints have now been passed to the relevant departments for consideration. The only way to be sure is to contact them and ask, of course.
  • When i did my dads with hsbc i put everything in one questionaire. And they sorted it all out.

If my mother accepts the offer shes had on that one account, do the banks have a habbit of putting a clause in the acceptance that says she cant make any further complaints. Im just double checking in case those other accounts not mentioned have not been passed on to the relevent departments and i have to resubmit seprate complaints.

    thanks for any replys

Different bank, of course. They all behave differently.
Just contact the Bank and ask them if the other account numbers are also under consideration. If they are not, simply fill out another questionnaire for each and re-submit.
You'll be glad to hear that no bank can invoke any "clause" about any different such PPI claims.
Every loan, credit card and account overdraft will have a different PPI policy number. You can complain for each without fear of duplication.
