digital phone help needed

do digital phones only work in an area where there is a digital system available i.e. freeview not available in my area.
i bought a digital cordless telephone and the volume when speaking to someone local is so so low. even though i have consulted the handbook and played with the volume controls it remains unbelievebly low. even those on the other end can hardly hear me.
have i been diddled??

  • Your phone has nothing to do with TV signals, it's a phone, not a TV. If you've already tried increasing the volume, it might just not be a great phone. If it's a fault you could always take it back to the retailer and see if you can swap it, or contact the manufacturer.
  • thanks for the reply but i know its not a tv. just thought had somthing to do with signals etc.
what happened to 'There’s no such thing as a stupid question'? or am i taking it too personally. i'm just very annoyed with the phone
  • Sorry, didn't mean to offend, it was just a really weird question. If it's not working properly I'm sure you can get a replacement or refund.

Sounds like you have a faulty phone, the term digital refers to the way the signal is transmitted from the handset to the base station and should not effect the volume of the unit.

Return it and either try another or change it for a different make.
