1st sale on ebay

Hello,

I've just sold my 1st ever item on ebay. What happens now? I assume that I wait until I have received payment before sending it? I have got PAYPAL, but having never used it I don't know how to ask the buyer to pay me by it, if you see what I mean!? How does it all work?

Thanks in advance,

Duncan

Can we have some more details please?
was the item auction or buy it now?
If your buyer has paid you by paypal, you need to look in your paypal account, don't just trust an e-mail that arrives and says you have been paid, and Never click on a link always log in separately.
If the item was over £32 in value I would advise sending it by special delivery, so you can prove delivery to paypal should a charge back ever arise.( you are only covered by sending to a confirmed addres though).
for a low value item, keep your proof of posting so that if the buyer claims that the item did not arrive, you can claim form the Royal mail. check your buyers' address to see if is confirmed, especially on a high value item .
one last point, I am sure that you already know this, never send anything to Nigeria!

Thanks for that. Its a low value auction. I put 3 things up. Another has sold since I posted the original question. And this one has come up as "payment sent on paypal". So, as you say, I will check me paypal when I get home (log on details on my home PC you see!). I will send an email to the 1st buyer to see how they want to pay? Is that usual practice?

    Thank again.
