PPI to a debt collection agency

Hi, a few years back i had a loan with the abbey national, due to my situation at the time i had problems repaying the loan and was making regular smaller payments to them and it was then passed on to a debt collection agency where I still continue to make payments, however I'm not sure if the total debt that was passed on included the ppi that was taken out at the time,

My question is if the debt included the ppi which was passed onto the debt collection agency was valid move by the abbey and would I be able to get the debt reduced by the ppi amount?

Any advice would be grateful.

Do you have any reason for claiming back the PPI.

There has to be one,

Did you lose yur job or something when you coudnt pay, if so why did you not claim on it.
