    Make sure your waste pipe (the red one in the above drawing) is as high as possible above where it joins your sink waste pipe, otherwise you will get nasty water working its way back into your machine.

    The waste pipe does not go high up like in the diagram, more like straight across (below the sink). Will try and post a photo later.

    Theres the answer to the grey smelly water in the machine then :) You need to put the kink in the waste as shown in the diagram, that will stop the water coming back into the machine from the sink.

    One down just the leak to find now, have you pulled the machine out to check the inlet hoses are tight ?
