NAS drive problems

I've got a problem with my NAS drive (an Iomega StorCenter ix2). It's connected via ethernet to the Sky Broadband router and I can access it off the PC downstairs (Windows 7) and my laptop (Mac OSx) without any issues. Both of these access it wirelessly. However I can't access it via my PC which is connected to the router via ethernet. I'm running Windows 7 and it appears as a media server, but not as a PC. The only way I can get it to appear is to switch the drive off, and back on again whilst Windows is on. It's only recently started doing this. When I first got it about a year or so ago it appeared fine. The only thing that's changed that I can think of, is I installed extra USB ports on my PC.
If I hook my Macbook up to the router via Ethernet it finds it without issue.
I'm confused does anyone know anyway to fix this?

What happens if you try typing in '\\name\sharename' (where name is the ip address or hostname of the nas and sharename is the name of a shared folder, e.g. media) into the run box (without quotes). Does the contents of the shared folder appear?
It can find all the documents even though it doesn't appear on the Network list.
Last night I created a short-cut to the drive and that works perfectly too. Guess it must just be something wierd on the PC, especially as after about 10 minutes the drive appears where it should do.0
