hiya all, i moved into the house over 1 year ago. I was using a letting agent but 3 months into renting, My landlord decided she wanted me to just go straight to her as she was having problems with the letting agent. We both agreed for me to give her the rent.
I did not sign a tenancy agreement.. this was in jan 11.
I have found a nicer house and want to move in 2 weeks but im not sure how long i have to give my landlord notice? im paid up till the 12th of april.
thanks

I would think it is a standard 1 months notice from your normal rent payment date.
Best person to ask is the LL.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
You need to give your landlord one complete rental-period's notice in writing as an absolute minimum. or pay two lots of rent if you are intent on moving in two week's time.
Alternatively, speak to your landlord directly and negotiate. Offer to be completely flexible about allowing viewings and pay the rent until the new tenants move in.0 -
Just to be clear, did you sign a tenancy agreement when you first moved in? I assume this has now expired, but please confirm. Also give us its start and end dates.i moved into the house over 1 year ago. And from what you say you have never signed another TA?
So you now have a Periodic Tenancy.
* you pay rent monthly yes?
* What are the tenancy periods? These run from the date your last TA expired (hence my Q above) to the following date a month later minus one day (eg 3rd of month to 2nd of following month)
* your Notice must be one full month rental period ending with the rental date (ie a month ending on 2nd in the example above)0
