This is Spot on the left. He's my daughter's best friend. After Spot went missing briefly over the weekend I was afraid that his next solo adventure would be one he didn't come back from, so I thought it politic to try and find a close relative in case of toddler heartbreak. This is an old photo. Spot looks much the same, but the baby's quite a lot bigger now.
Anyway, I checked Bedeck's website (I bought him in one of their shops in 2009) and they don't have toys any more. I emailed their customer services on the off chance they could tell me where he came from and had a reply yesterday morning saying they were sorry but they couldn't help.
Half an hour later another email came in asking if I would please call this one woman because she had good news for me. She'd sent my email and a description of Spot to everyone in the company, and to a friend of hers who used to work in the warehouse and doesn't any more but who said that when they'd had the toys in stock (only a brief experiment) they'd been stored in this obscure corner of the warehouse that wasn't used by the time he left.
So then she called a friend currently working in the warehouse, who went to this disused corner and found one lonely Spot! When I called she said she'd email me once they'd figured out how to get me to a point where I could pay for it, but then emailed a little later to say that her manager thought this new Spot would have a better home with us than in the warehouse waiting for us to figure out a pre-approved website purchase so would send him free of charge. AMAZING customer service.

Aww what a lovely response from Bedeck. Well done to them! Hope Spot the Second enjoys his new home. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0

I was amazed - I'd only emailed them to see if they could point me in the right direction, I wasn't expecting a warehouse hunt and chasing down former employees with inside knowledge.
