How or where did you get tha info on the taxman. Surely they will be looking at specific criteria and not people selling old jumpers or socks!

There were rumours here a couple of days ago of further half price PC World bargains - desktops maybe?? Anybody heard anything further.

Info from Money Telegraph page and other sources (rumours at first). The taxman wants anyone selling >60 items per year, then they'll look at amounts etc. The trouble is - lots of traders are using ebay and not stumping up the money to the taxman.
I.m not a trader and I buy and sell on ebay - but looking at it, would find it hard to SELL 60 things a year.
Anyway - you could always do it under different EBAY id's!!
Don't think taxman has thought it thru!

The guy who delt with me in PCW said there would be more offers over the next few weeks, inc more laptop deals. He didnt know much more but thats what HO had told him.

Thanks Debs - wonder if he just meant their other Packard Bell laptop (not the super-duper cheap one that ran out in 10 mins) that they are selling for £499 and advertising all over TV. Actually it's not a bad offer, but way off half price...!!

The taxman is also looking at people who charge higher than average p&p as this is seen as an indication of people trying to recover more than their costs.

there was a lot of discussion about this tax thing on the ebay boards so that might be a place to look for info. However, as the thread is going well off topic now I shall do a loud Board Guide <cough> and request that it gets back on topic, please guys

Just been to and collected 2 of the v500 notebook mice. Cant complain at 20notes. The offer page says things are sold out but if you actually search the catalogue you can still get good 1/2 price collect deals. Just a pain in the A*** trying to find them
