Fleming Park Eastleigh - Nightmare kids party

Had a kids birthday party yesterday at this venue which is run by DC leisure and have been to several parties before which were good albeit expensive.

Yesterday we had another one and it was a joke.

When we arrived the party room was locked and the party host didnt know the code.

When she got the code it was the wrong one and we were sitting on a staircase for 10 minutes waiting for someone to let us in. 12 under 5s plus assorted babies on a staircase is not great.

Then instead of the usual party room they hold the meal in we get put into a squash court - very festive and welcoming - NOT.

And to top it all off they turned the lights off in the squash court before the party had ended because someone wanted to play squash and they wanted us out so we have all these kids runnign round with ice creams in the dark.

Wont be hosting any of my kids parties there - can anyone reccomend any other venues in Southampton or Portsmouth areas please.

That sounds awful I'd be complaining asap - you don't have any "friends" that work for the local paper do you?!

I understand a complaint letter has been sent to them locally and nationally. The poor kids mum was in tears at the end as she was so embarressed. We know them pretty well but some of the parents were meeting them for the first time and she was gutted at what they must have thought.

Completely ruined the day for her. I think their may have been some other event on today so they didnt want the party in that room the day before, but then why take the booking, why put them in a squash court and why switch off the lights.

    Really nasty experience.
  • Dont like the place at all, only been in briefly as well.

For kids parties there is the place off Shamblehurst lane, Hedge End not sure of the name but it is on the industrial estate, has ball pens, climbing etc.

Is there a Fuzzy Ed's down that way attached to one of the pubs - we had our youngest's party at the one near Bristol. Softplay, climbing type place, reasonable food options, with party bags - came to just over £50 for 8 kids.
