Carrots!

Last year I grew carrots in a pot. They weren't very successful. I have learned that I should have mixed the compost with soil so will do that this year.

This year I have germinated them on a windowsill. I put several seeds in the pots as they were so small but not all of them have germinated yet. The ones which have are now showing the curly leaves.

1. Can I now transplant them into the sandy compost pots?

2. Am I right in assuming that each plant produces one carrot so I plant a few in the pots?

3. They are currently in the conservatory. Can I now put the pots in the garage which is frost-free but cold or do I wait till April/May.

Sorry to be a bit thick about this. I am trying a crop a year. Last year's tomatoes were brill!!

Carrots will be hard to transplant but worth a go... I would suggest transplanting the whole clump from each pot together, that way there will be least disturbance for the roots.. one plant one carrot... and I think it might be too dark in your garage honestly...
