Is it possible to use an Internet provider, other than BT Internet, with BT Basic?

Their leaflet about the service suggests that BT Basic customers must us BT Broadband, but it's a bit vague.

Can I have broadband with BT Basic?

Yes. We recognise the importance of the internet in today’s world and BT Basic has been designed to allow broadband on the line.

You can take any one of the standard BT Total Broadband packages, which means you can choose which one best meets your needs and your budget. If you do take a broadband service, we will add this to the BT Basic line rental of £14.40 every three months. You can find out more about our broadband packages and place your order at bt.com/broadband

BT Basic and O2 unlimited LLU here so yes it is possible.

Ah, that's good. Can't really blame BT for pushing their own broadband package I suppose.

You can use any ISP you like with BT Basic.
