    Hello,

The mobile phone is £28 for mine and im in that until 3rd Feb 2013.

My partners in sim only deal but accidentally run up a big bill without realising she went over her minutes and is paying £66 a month off.

I have a feeling that the gas and electric is a lot due to us being on key meters (my partner also suffers with OCD and is constantly washing up and cleaning things all day). The boiler is one thats comes on when you turn on the hot tap. heating she sets to 16 degrees before bed and it is on until morning. very rarley have it on in day time, i noticed last night we had about £5 gas and then this morning she said to me "we need more gas, there is only about £3 left". Again she sleeps in her dressinggown at night but still says she feels cold so has to have heating on. I also feel that babies room needs to be kept nice and warm, midwife recommended keeping her room at about 19 as an ideal temperature !

The haircuts I have £7 a month and my partner spends about £3 - £4 a week at the local college getting her hair washed and blow dried because she feels it stresses her out doing it at home incase hairs get on the floor.

There is no APR's as all of these debts are NOT currently being paid off, they are just sat at that amount for ages . . so i do not understand what you exactly mean ?

You're spending £2 overnight - every night - heating a house when no-one's up .... sorry but this is a luxury you can't afford .... this adds up to £60 / month

You don't need your hair cut every month .... your partners doesn't need her hair washed & dried by someone every week - I have OCD and I get really stressed hanging my washing outside on the line (don't ask:o) but I do it as I can't afford to use the tumble dryer / have the heating on to dry it as it's not a need.

An easy saving of £15 / month here.

And there is still the issue of the car ...... it also isn't an essential if neither of you are working and, as Piglet pointed out, it's taking a third of your income - sorry but just not affordable.

Honey I urge you to get some advice from one of the debt charities - see the sticky at the top of the board for links to Payplan, CCCS and National Debtline. Christians against Poverty (CAP) is another one and they may do home visits in your area. Nonetheless - the car is the biggest drain on your finances and this is an area that you can make some dramatic savings.

The midwife probably gets a backhander from your gas supplier.

Do Eskimos keep their babies in an igloo at 19degC? Humans have not had central heating for very many generations and it certainly is not essential overnight for anything but the coldest nights.

I pay my car insurance monthly and there is 10 payments out of the 12 month policy.

My last payment is april so if I would like to pay just next months thus getting the last two months payment free and gaining the extra years no claims. When the policy runs out in july then I could consider this.

un until the end of june it seems this is when a lot of the defaults will drop off, so do you think i am better waiting until beginning of july to start sorting this all out ?

first thing i am going to do is set up the timer on the boiler so the mrs cant keep whacking the thermostat on in the middle of the night :-)

Not got a baby in the house but we've not had haating on all night ever this year. Only for 20 mins in evenig to take chill off - then use slankets or hot water bottles.
Perhaps a cheap fan heater in baby's room just to warm it before bed?
Its not that cold these days - or nights.

As your title states you want to be debt free, I see your income is very low, how are the job searches going?

You do not need a car at the moment & like others have said why so much heating? I have a baby and she was just wrapped up in knitted clothes & blankets but now its warm get outside enjoy the sun wrap up warm.

Do you really spend more on mobiles phones than food for your family?
