Would you be this ticked off if in the future anything happens and someone else were to fraudulently claim for your son (his dad for example).
With this form you now have evidence that it's you who deals with his money and no one else.0 -

Your son may be autistic, and that won't change, but his care and mobility needs may change. I have a 14 year old son with Down's syndrome and a list of other medical conditions. His needs have always qualified him for high rate care and high rate mobility, but I wouldn't say his needs haven't changed. In many ways, they have increased - but on the other hand, he has developed in other ways.
DLA is paid based on care and/or mobility needs, and this can change over a period of time, especially with children. I know a number of children with autism, and some are high functioniong whilst others need a greater level of support. Some have learning difficulties or other conditions, whilst others don't.
Reapplying for DLA means that you have the opportunity to update the DWP on the needs that your child has, and whilst it is frustrating, time consuming, and often negative, it does help to ensure the correct level of award. After all, we've all seen people who claimed DLA for genuine reasons, but failed to inform the DWP when they no longer have care and/or mobility needs and have later been prosecuted for this - and quite rightly IMO.0
