Alliance & Leicester Premier Direct Current Account Interest Rate - existing customer

Options
I opened my premier direct current account back in July 2005 when the terms and conditions said the interest rate was fixed at 5% until July 2007 (or thereabouts).

If I follow the links when I'm online to find out my interest rate it says premier direct is 6.1%. Does anyone know whether this will apply to me as an existing customer or is it just new accounts?

I also noted that the premier direct account no longer has free travel insurance, yet as an existing customer I'm sure I still have that benefit - will this continue?

I have this account too. I have no idea about the interest rate (not very MSE-like I know!), but the travel insurance is still being offered. I was looking at the details of this account with the g/f last night and European travel insurance is still listed as a benefit - not as good as the worldwide insurance I got when I signed up for this account though

Where did you see that information? The premier DIRECT current account details page doesn't seem to mention travel insurance at all now. The Premier Current Account (not direct) does list it.

I switched to the Premier Direct Acc and was distinctly asked if I realised that the Travel Insurance would not come with the new acc... I have a letter to this effect also....

I've only had my Premier Direct account for 12 months, but when my bonus period ends in April my rate goes to BOE-1% (currently 4.25%). Is yours the same?

I think I just found what I was looking for, but its well hidden. This page has the premier direct account interest rates, but you have to click the link "Previous Premier Direct Current account interest rates" to see the specific rates for when you joined.

For me it seems my rate will be 5% until September when it reverts to BOE-1%.
