Google for alpharooms - you get some good prices on this reservation website and guest reviews.
I have booked several hotels with them and have found their descriptions very fair.0

It depends when you want to go - Holiday Inn Express sometimes have prices less than that ( more often they are more expensive though ) - best if you can book at least 14 days in advance. They do a free breakfast which is continental style "serve yourself and eat all you like." Plenty of choice of cereals, rolls, croissants, fruit, yoghurts and lots of hot drinks. I stayed at Earls Court last year and the room offer was £49 a night at that time ( though a lot dearer if you turn up on the night) - that was a room for 2 with pull out bed for two children. Room was modern and immaculate, excellent shower, tea/coffee facilities, TV etc. ( Think Travelodge but better IMO ).0

It helps to know the day of travel and lenght of stay.
£65 weekday is flea pit money central London.
Weekends you might scrap in to a decent 4* hotel located right in the heart of the Oxford St area.
