FirstPlus Success (sort of!)

Took out a loan with FirstPlus in 2003 and paid off in full in 2007 paying PPI as an upfront payment despite not needing it as had good work benefits etc etc incase of sickness and was not fully explained to over the phone.

Complained to FP on 3rd March and then received letter saying the loan was done through Dial4aLoan (Welcome Finance) and that my complaint had been sent to them to deal with - Dial4aLoan have sent me a claim form and asked for any relevant paper work to be sent for them and I am in the process of filling that in.

However...today I receive a letter from FP saying they have upheld my claim for the loan from 2005-2007 and on my receiving my acceptance letter will send cheques totaling £6500!!!!!! :j

Turns out the loan from 2003-2005 was with Dial4aLoan then I took out another 5k in 2005 which returned the loan to FP so I can still chase Dial4aloan for the 2003-2005 PPI (about 5k + the other bits)

Needless to say I am :T with the 6.5k offer and even if it takes me yonks to claim back off Dial4aLoan/Welcome Finance I am over the moon that in a 5 minute phone call I am potentially 12k richer.

Thanks to this site that gave me the inspiration to claim!!! :eek:

Well done to you and enjoy your money, we won against Firstplus last year. We are in the same situation as you the first part of our loan was taken through the broker Central Trust , we have had to take the case to the FOS.But we won the second part with Firstplus. It does not really make sense does it.
