After I had similar issues I decided it is better to self insure, i.e. pay for whatever needs doing. Fortunately, since then I have had zero repairs.

£100 for part plus labour. What price do you put on the stress and time you have wasted phoning and inconenience waiting for these "tradesmen" to show up?

Just an update.

Received a letter from Inter Partner Assistance to say they will be conducting an investigation.

A couple of days before the bank holiday I contacted AXA to ask about the £100 I can get if I have to live away from home. As I have had no hot water and no heating and it's been a one point sleeting we have been living with friends (after buying electric heaters I gave up and have moved out for a while). They said they would call me back with more information.

A day before the bank holiday I was contacted by AXA to say that they have a price for the part which would be £35 to pay extra. They said they would contact me back to arrange payment.


GUESS WHAT ...... YEP GOT IT IN ONE ..... STILL WAITING

It's now been almost 4 weeks. I rang AXA 5 minutes ago to complain and apparently they have no record of the call regarding the part! I have asked to speak to the manager. Which has now resulted in waiting for a callback.
