"BT is not supported for this credit card"

Just tried to transfer a balance from my MBNA card to Barclaycard and got the message "Balance transfer is not supported for this credit card". Can anyone tell me what this means and why my card should be limited in this way?

MBNA contact number for BT queries - 0800 933 944
Barclaycard customer services - 0844 811 9111 / 01604 230230loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -
