Laptop won't load past the start up screen

Hello all, I've had a few technical problems kindly sorted out on here before.

Hopefully this is a simple one. Basically I was on youtube and my son pulled the power lead out causing it to turn the laptop off. I tried re starting it and then the lead came out again. Stupid I know.

Since then anytime I switch it back on it gets to the windows loading screen but wont go past there. It only lets me load up two ways. Normally and repair i believe.

Anyone know a way to get to the log in page? I'M not with the laptop at the moment but desperate to get it going later. It is a Dell if that helps. Had it around a year. Thanks in advance

So run the repair option. The sudden shutdown has probably corrupted the OS, causing a failure to boot up.
    What OS? W7?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
